St. Patrick's Day isn't all about leprechauns and four leaf clovers, there are fun ways to celebrate on March 17 — Irish or not!
But St. Patrick wasn’t even Irish! He was kidnapped by a band of pirates and escaped, joined a monastery and then started to do the work that became the basis for St. Patrick’s Day. He used a THREE leaf clover as part of his teaching – but now we use the four-leaf clover as a symbol of good luck.
Also, Patrick was supposed to have chased the snakes out of Ireland, but…. there never were any snakes in Ireland!
Did you know that wearing green is supposed to make you invisible to leprechauns and so you won't get pinched on St. Paddy's?
Bring on the green outfits! 😉 🍀
Also, did you know that the original color of St. Patrick’s Day was blue and not green? It’s thought that the shift of colors from blue to green happened because Ireland is also known as “The Emerald Isle."
Whether you are Irish or not, there is a lot of Irish culture to celebrate on St. Patrick’s Day.
