Watch how it's done:

What's in your kit:

  • 6 Bracelet Tubes (Can Be Trimmed to Size)

  • 3 Glitter Colors

  • 2 Gemstone Colors

  • 6 Connectors

  • 1 Funnel

Make Your Own Liquid Glitter Bracelets

Before You Begin

  • Set up your work area first. Lay down paper towels to catch drips and spills.
  • Lay out everything in the kit so it's all within reach before you begin.
  • You will also need water from a faucet and a pair of scissors if you need to shorten the bracelet tubing.
  • Adult supervision is recommended because the kit contains small parts.
  • Before cutting the bracelet tube, measure around the widest part of your hand, including the knuckles and thumb, so the finished bracelet can slide on and off.
  • Do not cut the tubing shorter than 6 ¾ inches (17.5 cm) or it may kink.

Step 1: Measure the Bracelet Tube

  • Wrap one bracelet tube around the widest part of your hand.
  • Make sure it fits comfortably and can slide over your hand.
  • If the tube is too long, use scissors to trim the excess from one end.
  • Make the cut straight and smooth, not angled, so the connector will fit properly.
  • Do not make the tube shorter than 6 ¾ inches (17.5 cm).

Step 2: Add the Connector

  • Choose one of the short, smaller-diameter connector tubes.
  • Push the connector into one end of the bracelet tubing.
  • Insert it only about halfway.
  • Leave the other half sticking out so you can use it later to close the bracelet.
  • If the connector is difficult to insert, wet it slightly with water to help it slide in.
  • Ask an adult for help if needed

Step 3: Add Glitter and Gems

  • Place the included funnel onto the open end of the bracelet tube.
  • Choose any combination of glitter and gems you want.
  • Pour a small amount into the funnel.
  • Gently tap the side of the funnel to help the glitter and gems move down into the tube.
  • Adjust or tap the bracelet tube if needed to help the decorations move through.
  • Continue adding decorations until you are happy with the look.

Tip: Do not overfill the bracelet. About half a packet of glitter or gems, or even less, is enough because the decorations will move around once the water is added.

Step 4: Fill the Bracelet with Water

  • Remove the funnel before adding water.
  • Do not use the funnel for this step.
  • Turn on the cold water so only a small trickle is running.
  • Hold the bracelet tube in a U shape, with both open ends pointing upward and at about the same height.
  • Place the open end of the tube under the small stream of water.
  • Fill the tube slowly.
  • Be careful not to let the water overflow or push the glitter and gems out of the other end.

Step 5: Close the Bracelet

  • Once the bracelet tube is completely full of water, hold it carefully so the water does not spill out.
  • Pinch or hold the end that already has the connector so you do not accidentally push the connector farther inside.
  • Quickly slide the open end of the bracelet tube onto the exposed half of the connector.
  • Push it on until both ends are evenly joined and the bracelet is securely closed.
  • If water spills out before you finish, refill the bracelet and try again.
  • Ask an adult for help if needed.

Step 6: Dry and Wear Your Bracelet

  • Dry the outside of the bracelet with a paper towel.
  • Check that both ends are securely connected.
  • Slide the bracelet over your hand and onto your wrist.
  • Move it around and watch the glitter and gems float through the water.
  • Repeat the process to make more bracelets with different glitter and gem combinations.
