Before You Begin

• Set up your work area first. Lay down paper towels or scrap paper to catch the scratch-off residue.
• Lay out everything in the kit so it's all within reach before you begin.
• Choose a clean, flat surface to work on.
• Pick the scratch paper or card you want to decorate.
• Keep the scratch tool nearby and handle it carefully while creating your design.

Step 1: Choose Your Scratch Paper

• Pick one of the scratch sheets or cards from the kit.
• Place it flat on your work surface.
• Decide whether you want to draw a picture, write a message, create patterns, or make your own design.

Step 2: Start Scratching

• Hold the scratch tool like a pencil.
• Gently scratch the dark coating on the paper.
• Watch the colorful or shiny layer appear underneath.
• Use light pressure at first so you can control your lines.

Step 3: Create Your Design

• Draw lines, shapes, pictures, letters, or patterns.
• Scratch larger areas to reveal more of the colorful background.
• Use smaller strokes for fine details.
• Try dots, swirls, stripes, stars, hearts, or other patterns to add texture.

Step 4: Add More Details

• Continue scratching until you are happy with your artwork.
• Add borders, names, messages, or extra decorations if you like.
• Experiment with different line thicknesses and scratching techniques.

Step 5: Clean Up

• Gently brush away the loose scratch-off residue from the paper.
• Wipe your work area clean.
• Store unused scratch sheets and tools together for your next project.

Step 6: Display or Share Your Art

• Use your finished scratch artwork as a drawing, note, card, or decoration.
• Display it, give it to someone, or create another design with a new sheet.
