December 8 - Make Your Own Erasers
Today’s surprise is perfect for creative kids!
Behind Door 8 is a red and green eraser clay that turns into real, working erasers after baking. Kids can shape Christmas trees, candy canes, holly leaves, or any holiday design they can dream up!

How to Make a Mini Christmas Wreath Eraser
Step 1: Shape the Wreath
Take your green clay and roll it into a long, thick rope. Bring the ends together to form a circle and press gently so it holds its shape. This is your wreath’s base!
Step 2: Add Pine Texture
Use a toothpick, fork, or the tip of a craft tool to poke tiny marks all around your wreath. These little lines make it look like real pine needles!
Step 3: Make the Bow
Roll a small strip of red clay and flatten it with your fingers. Bring both ends into the middle and press lightly to form the bow loops—don’t squish too hard!
Step 4: Add the Bow Center
Roll a tiny red rope and wrap it around the middle of the bow to finish the center knot.
Step 5: Add the Bow Tail
Roll a small red ball, flatten it, and pinch the bottom to create the tail shape. Attach it to the bottom of your bow.
Step 6: Put It All Together
Press your bow gently onto the bottom of the green wreath. It’s already looking festive!
Step 7: Add Holly Berries
Roll a few tiny red balls and place them around the wreath in groups of three—just like holly berries.
Step 8: Bake Your Erasers (Adult Supervision Needed)
Erasers bake best when they’re just under an inch, or 2.5 cm across.
Bake at 230–266°F (110–130°C) for about 15 minutes, depending on the size of your eraser (and your individual oven temperature – there is some variation). Monitor closely and do NOT exceed 20 minutes.
Let the oven cool slightly before opening the door to remove your erasers.
Step 9: Let It Cool
Once it’s cool, your Christmas wreath eraser is ready to use or give as a gift. It’s bright, festive, and made entirely by your kids!
